Adoration

In a quiet corner of a heart
I’m a witness to this mystery
Temple divine, built in my soul
May you always help me dwell in Thee

And if I travel all world’s corners
No greater awe will my heart see
Than the sacrificial offering
Your body has given up for me

Praise and honor to the Lamb
Who offers himself in this mystery
May my heart be open and ready
So that You may always be in me

You bring me down to my knees
You strip me of all my needs
Offer healing to my soul
And teach me to let go

Oh Lord in my pain
I found one eternal gain
I have found Your divine love
Stooping down from up above

No more use in hiding
For in the darkest night
I have found a holy might
You, who heal me for eternity
Offer grace and sanctity

Love Letter

Dear Love,
I am tempted by thoughts of giving up the fight, of going with the current and calling it a day.  The “what ifs” create a daydream of no struggles, of easy-going materialism.  And what if I were to cash in sacrifice, prayer, and suffering for this world? And what if I give in to the physical, the pleasures of the senses, the satisfaction of mind and body? My love, sometimes it feels like I am the only soldier on the battlefield…Wouldn’t it be something to raise the white flag lie, to lock up my heart, bury the key?
“Don’t lie to yourself, oh my soul, love your God.”

My eyes consume all temptations and swallow them whole. My heart longs to be with Him, but my lips speak otherwise. My heart, it longs to reach yours, Love. Do you know that He longs to be with you, too?
“Oh how long, how long until I’m home, until You come for me, ‘cause I’m so tired, so tired of running.”

How long will I rage the battle for our souls, Love? How long until your heart hears His soft voice and welcomes his presence? Meek and mild, the Sheperd bears the weight of His weak, lost lamb. My Lord, Your wounds take pain of this cross. You carry me, the weak, lost lamb.
Worries will never love you. They’ll leave you all alone. But your God will not forsake you, oh my soul.”

“So, when your wine's all gone and your well runs dry,
Open your hands and look into my eyes; all that you see here,
you'll soon leave behind, so open your hands and look into my eyes

Fathers & mothers don't always come through,
but I'm never gonna stop following you
Prophets and lovers don't always hold true,
but I'm never gonna stop falling for you”
